Career Highlights

Nicole, known as Barnie, was a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team from 2005-2015, during which time she won two Olympic gold medals as well as silver and bronze World Cup Medals. She currently plays in the NWSL for Utah Royals FC, and previously played for FC Kansas City, the 2014 & 2015 Champions. She also played professionally in the WPS for two years with FC Gold Pride (2010 Champions) and one year with the Philadelphia Independence. She grew up in Pennsylvania, where her playing career began with the Boyertown Soccer Club. She played on boy’s club teams throughout most of her youth as well as her middle school and high school’s boys’ teams. She also played for a few local girls’ teams, including one from Souderton as well as FC Delco. She continued her playing career at Stanford University, where she had a standout career and set many records. She graduated in 2005 with a double degree – Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Upon graduation, she served as the Volunteer Women’s Soccer Coach from 2005-2007, 2009-2015, where she helped the team to a 2011 NCAA Championship. She has coached at many levels in the game, including US Soccer Youth National Teams, WPSL, youth club and as a private instructor in her own goalkeeper coaching business. In 2006, she was inducted into the FC Delco Hall of Fame. In 2010, she was inducted into the Boyertown Soccer Club Hall of Fame. In 2014, she was inducted into the Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame.
