Common Questions

  • Are you able to help my child during off-seasons and during season or is one better than the other?

I'm happy to help all year! We can work through game and practice film during season that will focus on improving our game performances little-by-little each week, and then off-season affords us more time to work on specific goals for next year (fitness, mental performance, certain skills, etc.).

  • My child is trying to make the team, can you help them ahead of tryouts?

I would love to offer any support I can while they work hard to make the team! I'm happy to give advice for their experience on and off the field, as they learn about what it takes to make the team physically/technically and mentally. While we discuss ways to improve, I think it's just as important to talk about confidence, self-talk, and the pressures that come with being an athlete.

  • Will working with you conflict with my child's teams coach?

Absolutely not! I believe there is never just one correct answer in soccer, and that's what makes the sport so special. When I coach, it is always a collaborative conversation. I love to hear why my athlete made certain decisions, and simply want to add to their toolkits for future game situations. If their team coach is giving them specific instructions, I will certainly find ways to incorporate that into our sessions.

  • My child struggles to translate practice to improved gameplay. Can you help them with improving actual in-game play?

I have seen my own growth in gameplay improve the most when I have consistent film meetings with my coaches/mentors. That's why I am so passionate about reviewing film with the next generation, because I think I can have a real impact on players of every skill/experience level.

  • What skill level players do you coach?

I love to coach players at every level! I have experience coaching athletes as young as U8 and as old as seniors in high school, some who have just picked up the sport and some who have been playing for 10+ years and want more nuanced/ultra-specific coaching notes.

  • My child wants to get recruited to play in college, can you help them with this?

After going through the college recruitment experience myself, I would love to share my best advice and everything I learned along the way!
