Baek Hwong

Hello! I'm a guitarist, songwriter and producer and have been teaching guitar for the last decade. I graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in popular music, was an on-camera instructor at Fender Play for two years, and have taught students from ages eight to 60. I was a self-taught guitarist at the beginning and due to this, I know that motivation to even pick up the guitar is the most important part of learning. I strongly believe students will improve the most when they're learning material they're interested in, and remain excited about guitar through the process, as opposed to it being a chore. I like to think of myself as a calming and enthusiastic teacher, and I find great joy in watching students improve over time. I specialize in fingerstyle, funk and pop. I also played acoustic guitar for the first eight years of my guitar journey before switching to electric, so I enjoy both to this day!
