Ben Provest

I am passionate about guitar education. I have studied styles including classical, jazz, rock, folk & pop at The Victorian College of The Arts (Australia) & Berklee College of Music (USA). In 2019 I developed a lead guitar course for Fender Play, taking students from a beginner level to advanced level of proficiency. As well as my experience with teaching online, I love getting to know my private students & finding out what they are listening to and what goals they have. I am confident as in guiding my students through what I believe is most important when it comes to being a professional, working musician, and collaborating with other artists. I can incorporate ear training & music theory, and believe it assists with songwriting & learning repertoire. Recently, I have been expanding my knowledge in open tunings & acoustic finger-style playing. As well as a professional guitarist I am also a singer/songwriter, and can assist with students wanting to develop their own voice as a songwriter. I have learned hundreds of songs from The Beatles, James Taylor & ABBA to more contemporary artists including John Mayer & Taylor Swift. I'm confident that I will be able to help you achieve your goals in whatever genre you enjoy.
