Mike Semenza is an energetic, personable and dedicated coach who graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California where he played Division 1 Men’s Soccer and completed his degree in Business Administration with a health and human performance emphasis. After a brief professional playing career, Mike found his passion in coaching and began working with elite athletes and olympians from around the world at EXOS, San Diego. After about a year and half with EXOS, Mike realized his desire to give back to the game that gave him everything. He landed a position with the historic LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer. At the LA Galaxy, Mike joined the Performance staff as the Head Performance Coach of the Developmental Academy and was responsible for assessment screening, individual and team periodization plans, daily player load management and data analysis, on-field conditioning, individual strength and power work, return to play protocols and position-specific technical work. In two seasons, the team made the Development Academy National Championship game both seasons and over 12 players and counting have gone on to sign professional contracts at the age of 18. He continues to work with former LA Galaxy players in hopes of seeing them play in the Champions League and/or representing their respective countries. Mike continues to dedicate himself to soccer players of all ages and backgrounds and truly believes that committed, hard-working athletes who receive proper coaching can rise above and beyond their goals.
