Colin Mullan
Car Racing
Instructions
For this drill, choose any high-horsepower car (Indycar, NASCAR truck, Cadillac CTS-V w/o traction control, etc.). Pick a track with low speed corners that will test your ability to apply throttle smoothly on corner exit - such as Summit Point. Your goal is to keep your throttle application point the same as usual, but you will need to adjust how much throttle you use on exit, as these cars have much more power than they do grip! Be smooth with your application, and try to build slowly from the start until you are just on the edge of losing traction.

About the coach
I’ve been racing nearly my entire life, with experience in everything from open-wheel racing, touring cars, to GT and prototypes. In 2020 I won a GT4 America Championship driving with Andretti Autosport, and have been recognized as one of the most winning drivers in GT4 racing in the US. My goal as an instructor is to teach you the “how and why” to improve as a driver. It’s easy to tell you what to do to be faster, but becoming a better driver on track takes more than that.
